AK and I packed up some munchies and headed to Camana Bay for a picnic (great idea, Jenni!). It was a perfect day - sunny with a bit of cloud and a most wonderful breeze coming off of the water. The kids ran around and burned off a LOT of energy - a three-hour nap worth of energy! Tracy heard AK trying to open her bedroom door once she woke up, so she helped AK open it from the other side. AK managed to communicate to Tracy that she had to open the top drawer of the dresser and lift AK so that AK could put her "sucky" where it belonged! Smart kid. AK then headed over to Charmain's for lasagna and fun times as Yvonne and Tracy treated me to a lovely dinner at Agua. We shared shrimp skewers with a tomato sauce, and a goat cheese bread basket for appetizers, then I had shrimp and scallops on champagne risotto and a cremini mushroom sauce. Yum! The other girls had the sea bass, which I've had before and very much enjoyed.

When we picked up AK, I decided to drive out to the Crighton house, which also does up the Christmas lights for people to walk through. As it was already getting late, and I was tired and full, we just drove past.
Tracy was kind enough to empty her change purse and allow AK to take the CI change for her piggy bank. AK ran into her room, then ran back into the living room, asking "Mommy, where's my piggy bank?" so I helped her get it off of her dresser. She put all of the change in, coin by coin, and Tracy also gave AK a couple of US dollars. AK folded them up and put them in the bank too then asked for "more paper please!". That got a good giggle out of us!
AK got to bed quite late again as Great Aunty Barb called as we were reading bedtime stories. I had a nice chat with her while AK read her books, then AK sang Aunty Barb a couple of songs. I think they may even have sang together? Unfortunately I missed my mom's call, too bad as I'm sure AK would have sang for her too! When I tried to sing along with her today, she stopped and said "Mommy, I'M singing". She wouldn't start again until I'd stopped.
I asked the girls to keep an eye on AK while I showered this morning. Didn't realize I had such a little monkey on my hands!
We headed out to the pool for a while so the girls could soak in their last bit of sun.
We then headed out for breakfast at Coconut Joe's with Mike and Julie... Monkey Joe surprised AK with a huge bowl of ice cream, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce! I would have preferred that AK had eaten her pancake than the ice cream, but who can turn down a treat? AK cried some great big crocodile tears when we dropped the girls at the airport. It sure is quiet here without them!
After a nap that didn't seem long enough, as AK acted as though she'd gotten up on the wrong side of the bed (sorely testing my resolution to be a more patient mother, ha!), we headed off to Beth and Dan's pool at Camana Bay for a BBQ. As I said to Karen, it just felt right to have everyone back from holidays and together again! AK didn't want to swim today, which is fine as I didn't either, but she ran around and around with Matthew and Molly. There was a wagon for them to play with, they took turns pulling it and riding on it. I made a point of coming home early (easily done as AK started getting cranky) and the little princess was in bed by 730pm tonight. Time to get back to normal.
Tomorrow is one more day off of work for me. I have some girls coming over to help make perogies :) this next week will be a busy one with preparations for the Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner I plan to hold on Saturday night!
Night night. xo
