Wednesday tidbits!

Loads of gems from AK's mouth today!

  • I picked her up from daycare and let her know that we needed to drive out to West Bay to pick up Mommy's pictures (my canvases from Cuba). As we drove out there, we pointed out all the different places we knew. I pointed at Camana Bay and asked AK what that was. Her answer was "creaky crane-ky". There is a big crane used for construction there and all the kids get super excited to see "creaky crane-ky".
  • She would tell me that we were "going to pick up Mommy's pictures, can I look at the pictures, Mommy? Then I'm going to get a haircut, then we're going to go home". I told her that we'd have supper when we got home and got "I don't want supper Mommy!".
  • AK loved getting her bangs trimmed today. She smiled and giggled and made the hairdresser fall in love with her (this was a new hairdresser that will trim AK's bangs for FREE!). She noticed that AK's bangs have been cut incorrectly so we'll have some weird stuff going on while part of the sides grow out. I think she did a really good job though. AK got a good tickle when the hairdresser used her brush to brush off the hairs when she was done.
  • I gave AK some licorice while she got her hair cut to bribe her to sit still. When she was done, she asked for more and I pulled out the empty wrapper to show her I didn't have more. She threw the wrapper back in my purse in disgust. Ha!
  • AK enjoyed looking at my canvases. She identified the flowers (she still says "fallows" for flowers), loved the yellow sun and blue moon, and thought both musicians were playing drums and tried to play along with them by tapping the canvas. She told me to "hang them up now!" and pointed at where she thinks they should go (I'm slightly alarmed that she pointed at the ceiling for a couple of them). There's also one that is a gift for someone and she shook her finger at it saying "not for us, Mommy!"
  • We sat down for supper and AK snatched my fork. I asked her to get another fork out of the drawer, thinking she'd be too short to reach one for me... I was wrong! She came back, very proudly carrying a big fork for me!
  • We scooted down to the pool after supper (AK has a Radio Flyer scooter that she is getting quite good on) and those ducks were there again. AK giggled and exclaimed over them for ages. "The ducks are here! The ducks are swimming in the water! The ducks are drinking the water! Hee hee hee! Silly ducks!" It was quite funny to see how giggly she was. I think I need to let the landlords know about the ducks as I'm starting to worry about what kinds of ick they could be putting in the pool :( as it is there's duck poo all around the pool now. That can't be good.
That's all for now, folks! xo
