Here's a poor quality picture of my Junior Achievement class this term. They were much nicer and better behaved than the class I had last term! They still were a bit of a challenge (as Grade 8's will be!) as time went on, but one of the girls kept chastising the boys and telling them to "respect Miss Paula, she's TALKING right now!". She'll make a great lawyer, like she wants to be!

Ukrainian Christmas Eve!

About a dozen of my closest friends and their children (if applicable) were kind enough to allow me to cook Ukrainian Christmas Even dinner for them!!!

A home full of people to feed - nothing could make me happier <3

Perogies and mushroom dill sauce - a huge hit! There were only 3 perogies left by the end of the night!

Borscht and tilapia - there was NO borscht leftover by the time I packed up leftovers for those who wanted some to take home. I hear some couples even fought over who got to eat the leftovers the next day! I think they shared :)

The rest of the meal - lazy cabbage rolls, coleslaw, kolach, pickles, olives, smoked salmon, picked herring (yum!) and kutia. There was lots of kutia leftover :S

Ben's mom made this amazing cake!!!

Finally - a mother-daughter photo - but someone's so bashful! Check out my new apron that I got for Christmas!

I love love love cooking for a large group of people like this... it's even better when a swarm of girlfriends descends upon my kitchen afterward and cleans up! It was a perfect evening, and it was worth all the time it took to prepare. Seems to get easier and less stressful every year... xo
